Sepahan Oil Refinery has started its operation in 1992 as one of the units of Isfahan Refinery. This refinery unit was established in September 1999 as a private joint-stock company called Isfahan Lubricant Oil Refinery Company and was registered in the Department for Registration of Companies and Industrial Property of Tehran. According to paragraph c of Note 10 of the Budget Act, 2000, this company was transferred to the Pension, Savings and Welfare Fund of Oil Industry Employees as the Lubricant Oil Refinery of Isfahan Refinery. After the transfer of this company from the beginning of 2002 and based on the approval of the Extraordinary General Assembly of Shareholders dated 18.05.2002, the name of the company was changed from Isfahan Lubricant Oil Refinery to Sepahan Oil Company.
